Supporting Successful Reintegration
Reintegration is an integral part of the work undertaken at The Rosewood School, underpinning our commitment to ensuring every pupil is supported in moving forward successfully. Our approach focuses on building the confidence, skills, and resilience needed for a positive transition back into mainstream education or towards an appropriate onward destination. Through structured, needs-led planning, close collaboration with families and partner schools, and a strong emphasis on wellbeing and readiness to learn, we support pupils to re-engage with education and take meaningful next steps in their academic and personal development.
Reintegration Lessons
An evolving 12-week reintegration intervention is timetabled for pupils in Years 7–10, continuously adapting to meet the changing needs of each cohort. Centered on developing social skills and emotional regulation, the programme provides a structured and supportive environment that prepares pupils for a successful return to their home school or transition to their next educational setting. Throughout the intervention, pupils are encouraged to reflect on their progress, recognise their personal strengths, and develop practical strategies they can apply independently. By the end of their placement, the reintegration intervention aims to ensure that every pupil has the tools to achieve and thrive beyond The Rosewood School.
Review meetings
Regular review meetings form an important part of each pupil’s placement at The Rosewood School. Formal reviews are held at weeks four and eight, providing structured opportunities to evaluate progress and discuss reintegration. These meetings involve parents or carers, representatives from the pupil’s mainstream school, and relevant professionals, ensuring that decisions are made collaboratively and in the best interests of the young person. During these reviews, reintegration plans are developed, and clear, agreed next steps are established to support a successful transition back into mainstream education or towards an appropriate onward destination.
